Karaoke Fundraising Update:

Event was successful and Jerry Meyer received handouts from committee members to complete a file for the Karaoke event, stating costs and responsibilities of each different position (i.e. decorations, drinks, food, etc.)

New Business:

Elections

All election seats to have a complete board will be elected from the members listed below in June. Jerry Meyer asks members to review each elected position in By-Laws and nominate themselves if they feel they have strength in that area. The following is a list of members: Becky Meyer, Jane Browe, Mike Royal, Nicole Price, Brenda Gallagher, Sharon Meyer, Jerry Meyer. Non-voting positions to be filled by Randy Kent (Technical Director), Mary Beth Hoagland (Music Director).

Jerry stated that we should make an effort to include the Art teacher and the arts program into FANS next school year. Randy stated that the art teacher and students had provided some artwork for the Spring Jr. High Musical.

 

Spring Musical:

Jerry Meyer stated that the Jr. High Spring Musical went very well. Thanks again to Randy Kent and Mary Beth Hoagland for their hard work.

Jerry Meyer gave funds received from Jr. High Spring Musical from fundraising events (i.e. bake sale, ad sponsors, t-shirts, etc.) to Nicole for deposit.

Festival:

Nicole discussed having FANS members to volunteer to help Mary Kent with the Face Painting booth at the festival. Nicole to discuss schedule of workers with Mary and let members know when they will be needed.

Jerry Meyer suggested that we sponsor a booth for FANS. Members voted and agreed. Jerry to contact Kirk Vonderhaar and Nicole to issue check when advised.

 

Aronoff Center

Jerry Meyer contacted the Aronoff regarding Phantom of the Opera tickets for students. Matinee dates available are September 19 and October 11. Permission from the new Principal appointed and transportation would have to be arranged. Further discussion will be required.

 

Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra

Jerry received a letter from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra/POPS. This letter is to contact CSO and receive 50 vouchers for a "buy one ticket and receive a second ticket free" to be distributed to volunteers of FANS who have helped out through the school year. Barb Meyer to handle.

 

Art by Nature Fundraising Concept

In Jane Browe's absence, Jerry Meyer passed out a flyer that she has regarding a fundraising idea similar to market day but with fresh fruit and vegetables. This flyer will be discussed in a future FANS meeting.

 

Directory

Kathy Rothschild requested a statement from FANS describing our organization for the directory and/or a picture. Jerry Meyer will use FANS mission statement and if time allows take a group picture and submit it for the directory at the next meeting

The next meeting of FANS is scheduled for June 3rd at 5:00 p.m. at Jerry Meyer's house for a picnic. Jerry to confirm that everyone can meet for the picnic and e-mail. If schedule does not allow for picnic Jerry to pick a new meeting date for June elections.

 

Madcap Productions

Sharon Meyer stated that she has a contact with Madcap Productions for the next school year to maybe provide puppet shows for the children at St. Vivian.
