Old Business:

Minutes approved from last meeting with one change as noted below.

February 19 FANS minutes to reflect that Anne Flick suggested an end-of-year banquet for those in the youth and concert choirs as well as the spring musical and any other extra-curricular arts programs. This item was previously noted in error as an awards banquet.

Finneytown Community Theatre Update: Jerry Meyer spoke with Father Jack regarding Finneytown Community Theatre requesting use of Activity Center. Father Jack and Jerry discussed schedule of summer events. This group will not be able to use the Activity Center due to the schedule of the Activity Center and time constraints. Jerry Meyer to contact Mr. Wood and inform him of the decision.

Logo Update: Tom Kramer present changes to logos previously selected. FANS voted to accept the "Ticket" type logo. Tom to make one minor change and e-mail as required for use on programs and other FANS requirements. A special thank you to Tom for a beautiful job.

Jerry Meyer had received pricing for T-shirts. Brenda to talk with vendor to receive a sample shirt with FANS Logo printed on it for sample to be used for ordering purposes.

Bake Sale: Jerry Meyer passed out flyers for the Fans sponsored bake sale to be held at the March 31 Toy & Clothing Sale. Special thanks to Maria Meyer for design of the flyer, distribution and organizing the bake sale.

Pepsi Note Update: Mary Beth Hoagland reported the final count on the Pepsi Note fundraiser was 2,997. Mrs. Armour's class awarded the pizza party. Pizza party sponsored by FANS. Special thanks to Maria Meyer for handling the Pepsi Notes program and organizing the Pizza Party. Mary Beth to forward list of items selected for publication once decision has been made.

Karaoke Fundraising Update:

Time for event was discussed. Karaoke to be held from 7:30 to Midnight.

It was decided that babysitting should be cancelled due to the length of the event.

Jerry Meyer: Liquor License Requirement of $20 for purchase of beer. Treasurer issued check to Jerry. Amount of beer to be purchased will be based on reservations and the amount used at Cross-Town Shootout party will be used as a guide. Beer Price $59.50/per keg ($49.50 + $10 deposit/keg). Three kegs used for Cross-Town Shootout. Cross-town Shootout event sold 10 cases of bottled beer. Anything not opened could be returned for a refund.

Maria Meyer designed flyer for event and will be posted in breezeway.

Tom & Pat Kraemer donated Two Tickets to Playhouse in the Park. Special thanks to Tom and Pat for the donation. Jerry & Maria Meyer donated an evening at the Marriott downtown. Special thanks to Jerry and Maria for the donation. This will be raffled off as an Evening of Fine Arts.

Jim Meyer will handle purchasing beer and soft drinks.

Sharon Meyer to handle reservations.

Brenda Gallagher stated that she had spoke with LaRosa's and Jersey Mike's. The pizza and subs were discounted but she did not know to what extent since we did not have quantities. Bill Rice stated that in his past experience with LaRosa's, pizza was sold to the group for $6/large pizza. It was decided by the group to switch to chips and pretzels due to the cost of the food. Brenda to contact Sure Good and Husman's and other vendors for prices on chips and pretzels.

Suzann Warden will work with Brenda to forward letters to local companies for door prizes.

Michelle Frey began working on getting door prizes by sending out letters to various companies.

Nicole Price to work with Maria on table decorations. Desserts not required since menu changed.

Bill Rice will handle some additional fundraising ideas (i.e. Split the pot, etc.)

Spring Musical:

Mary Beth stated that volunteer sheets had been distributed and received. Michelle Frey to handle organizing all volunteers for different groups required (i.e. make-up, bake sale, etc.)

Dave Raffenberg handling programs for both Spring Musicals. Mary Beth to distribute Sponsor/Ad sheet again.

 

New Business:

Upcoming Elections: It was decided by the group to have two meetings in May for election purposes. FANS Members to get the word out that elections are coming up and to see if anybody in Parish is interested in becoming an elected member.

Parent Suggestions: Brenda Gallagher presented the following as parent suggestions that she had received:

After School Art Programs, Craft Show, Variety/Gong Show

Waking up the Music: Jim Meyer stated that his wife, Sharon had contacted Mary Beth regarding a program sponsored by Folgers Coffee titled "Waking up the Music". Sharon registered St. Vivian's on-line. A registration is all that is required to be entered into the contest. Top 10 schools win $2500 for their Music program. Special thanks to Sharon Meyer.

Mrs. Dodd Memorial Light: Randy Kent presented the idea of having a design in the shape of a star lit and located above the stage for each musical performance in memory of Mrs. Dodd. Randy to investigate cost. Jerry Meyer to speak with Father Jack about this idea.

Fund Raising Event: Randy Kent brought up the idea that Riverbend pays groups to handle security at Riverbend concerts. Randy suggested that FANS could use this as a fundraiser. Randy to investigate and report back with information.

The next meeting of FANS is scheduled for April 16, 7:00 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge.
