Music Director's Report:

Bill Hofbauer reports that St. Vivian's budget for music at St, Vivian this year is $00.00. Discussionn ensued. Where are we going? No musical this year. The hours in a day do not equal the hours required to direct the musical.

What about a special arts event for the 8th graders? Ideas included a variety show, trip to the Playhouse, with behind the scenes look/see for students, something in place of musical. Bill will talk to the class and give them options.

Mr. Hofbauer requested our purchase of some Orf instruments, approximately 5 or 6 new ones(see B.H.'s handout)Jim Meyer proposed that FANS would discuss the purchase with the school (Mrs. Margello) and to offer to pay _ of the cost Bill outlined. P. Lacker seconded it.

Mr. Hofbauer announced that he is taking the Concert Choir on Mach 11th, 2005 to Mt. St. Joseph's Choral Event and that Mrs. Margello had asked them to go. St. Vivian School is offering to pay the $25.00 registration fee. But Mrs. M. is asking FANS to pay for the bus. Discussion about bus costs and appropriateness of taking one when there were only 16 kids going Carpooling Liability? Bill Hofbauer and Mary Kent will discuss further with Mrs. Margello.

Ms. Khamis came to our meeting and encouraged FANS to continue to support the ARTS at St. Vivian. She emphasized that FANS has done great things for our school and should continue to do so. Look for a focus, shoot high and keep going. Communication is lacking. Communication is lacking. Shift the focus, if needed, get people involved in being members.

Spaghetti dinner was a success- $800.00 profit.

Joan Gory came to announce that the Spring Craft Show will be held on Saturday, April 16th from 10:00a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This year Joan is trying to draw more crafters and buyers in using some fresh ideas to lure people. She is trying to provide a kid's craft corner this year and is looking for volunteers to help with this project. Patty Hadden and Anita Rudy have volunteered to man this operation from10-12 and 12 to3. They need helpers who could receive service hours for this work. We also need helpers to set up and take down tables.

Music Scholarship Program - S.Meyer will contact individual committee members about moving forward with this project, scholarships could possibly be offered to one boy and one girl in the graduating class in the amounts of $250.00. Committee will get together outside of FANS meeting and report back.

Artroom Window Well Project. Report by K. Neltner. Paint or tile? Sounds like tile might be easier solution for more families to participate. P.Lacker volunteered to do sample tile for board so they can see finished tile with three coat application process. 4x4 or 6x6 tiles. Discussion that the larger tile might be easier to work with. Someone is taking dimensions of the well, and we might extend the project to cafeteria wells if it takes off. P.Lacker suggested there might be a mason or craftsman/remodeler or concrete person at St. Vivian's who could lend their expertise in this effort.

Randy Kent has been asked to consider and suggest some video/computer equipment by Bridgett Raffenberg and was wondering if am MAC solution might be appropriate. In order to help out the school, he was wondering and brought the following idea to the table. We (FANS) buy 4 MACS and 4 free printers with all needed software, which he estimates the cost at $3252.00. He will check with a connection that shall remain nameless to see if we might get a better deal from Apple. (See me Randy) The entire board was abuzz with interest and possibility This purchase could be used in music, art and other projects FANS supports.

Mary Beth Khamis asked FANS to front money for the March 8th bus trip to Louisville, Kentucky for the Passion play. Bus cost is $550.00 Tickets are $8.00.

Motion to front the money by Liz Wilking and was seconded by Kim Neltner.

Adjournment:

Motion to adjourn by Theresa McGoron and seconded by Sharon Meyer.
