This group of parishioners works through an organization called New Visions which provides support for individuals during transition of separation and divorce.
A reminder, this is a confidential group and anything said remains within the group. Anyone experiencing a loss whether through divorce, death or separation is welcome. If you are struggling and need to talk to others who are going through similar circumstances, please make time to attend and learn to grow beyond the situation.

The Beginning Experience is a weekend away for a lifetime of change.
"There's a special loneliness for those who find themselves single again. But now there's help."
The Pain of Loss
Among life's most traumatic experiences is the loss of a loved one through separation, divorce, or death. In our country today, millions share the often unbearable pain this loss always brings: The pain of loneliness and grief.
The Beginning Experience
The Beginning Experience (B.E.) is a peer ministry designed to help separated, divorced, or widowed persons make a new beginning in life. The Beginning Experience is meant for people who have worked through the initial feelings of anger and despair, which usually follow the loss of one's spouse.
Beginning Experience Weekends: Hope for a New Beginning.
The ministry is carried out during special weekend programs that encourage participants to share their need and deal with the natural process of grief and loneliness. B.E. creates a space where participants can come together in a caring, supportive atmosphere to reevaluate themselves and their lives and move on to the future with renewed hope.
The weekend is presented by a team of men and women who are themselves divorced, separated, or widowed and further along in the grief process. They do understand, for they have been through the loss of a loved one themselves. The weekend consists of a series of presentations by the team; each followed by a period of private written reflection and then dialogue in small groups. Writing is very important because it helps you focus on your feelings. The small groups are made up of three to five participants and two trained leaders. There is no pressure to share, but expressing your feelings in the supportive atmosphere of the small group produces caring feedback and has a healing effect.
Weekends are held at: Comboni Mission Center, 8108 Beechmont Avenue
