-Follow up on Eucharistic MinistryBefore the meeting, an article was placed in the bulletin announcing that more Eucharistic Ministers were needed at the weekend masses. At the meeting, it was reported that the announcement was successful in gathering more Eucharistic Ministers for all weekend masses.-There was an announcement that Fr. Paul approved the new Holy Day Schedule, and that it will be effective as of the All Saints Day mass. As a reminder, theHoly Day Schedule is now changed to the following:7:30 pm - Vigil8:15 am - School kids7:30 pm- There was a short discussion regarding bringing communion to shut-ins. Some members of Worship Commission offered to take communion to the members of our parish who can no longer attend mass. We want all members of the parish who can no longer attend mass to feel like they are still a part of St. Vivian and not to lose touch with the St. Vivian community.-The members of the Membership Subcommittee provided us with a new proposal regarding membership on Worship Commission. The report was as follows:The members of the Worship Commission will include the following: pastoral staff members associated with the liturgy and a designated representative from each of the following ministries: Lector Ministry, Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministry, Ministry of Hospitality, Music Ministry, and Art and Environment Ministry. This membership would allow 4 to 8 members. An additional 3 to 4 members at-large, to reflect the diversity of the community, are to be selected and invited by the above group for a total of no more that 12 members. Each member will serve for 3 years with re-selection for another 2 years. After 5 years of service, a 1 year interim must be taken before accepting another term. The Chairperson will prepare, with the Pastor or Pastor's designated representative, the agenda, conduct the meeting, and appoint committees. This position will be filled in September.The Vice-Chairperson will conduct the meeting in the absence of the Chairperson. This position will be filled in September.The Secretary will take the minutes of the meeting and have them ready to be sent out with the agenda for the following meeting. this position will be appointed by the Chairperson.The pastoral staff members may not hold any of the above positions.The proposal was unanimously accepted. Julie Borgerding will modify the by-laws appropriately.
-Katie Barbara and Evelyn Maag were appointed to be the leaders of the Advent/Christmas planning team. Tim McManus, Deacon Larry Maag, and Julie Borgerding will also be on the team. Fr. Paul’s views on this planning team and how it will operate are needed. Gerry Michaud will discuss this with Fr. Paul.-We began a rotation of the opening prayer so that the same individual is not leading prayer for every meeting.-A subcommittee for the implementation of Redemptoris Sacramentum was tabled. Gerry will discuss this with Fr. Paul.-Another subcommittee was appointed for the new hymnal/Worship Aid. This subcommittee consists of Tim McManus and Jack Treinen (chair).
