Unfinished Business
New Hymnal/worship aid subcommittee status report
A member of the subcommittee will make an announcement about the new hymnals at all Masses the weekend of May 20 and 21. Hymnals will also be on display in the breezeway and Gather Rooms for parishioners to look at. Members of Worship Commission discussed possibly rebuilding the bookracks in order to better hold and protect the new hymnals.
Update on Usher meeting
In lieu of an Usher meeting, a survey was conducted to assess the state of the ministry.
Plaque for Preparation of the Gifts
Fr. Paul obtained the stand for the plaque. The plan is to display the plaque in the main part of Church on the first and third weekends of each month and in the "L" on the second and fourth weekends of each month. Announcements regarding the plaque will appear in the Bulletin and on Quicklets prior to Pentecost.
Gospel Book Stand
Gene Neltner is working on a low-profile book stand which will match the current altar furniture design.
New Business
Critique of Lent/Easter Liturgies
The fire needs to be bigger. Coordinators for the Sacristy need to be assigned for each Mass prior to the start of Holy Week.Lighting candles outside is a bad idea. Worship Commission suggested starting the Easter Vigil at 7:30pm every year from now on. There was also a discussion about maybe moving the Good Friday service to the evening instead of having it in the afternoon. It was suggested that two separate microphones be used during the reading of the Passion at the Good Friday service.
Fifth Sunday-Greeters and Lectors update
Will be placed on the agenda for the next meeting.
PPC Communication
Was tabled because the PPC liaison was unable to attend.
Liturgical Ministries Refresher Events
Was made as a goal for next year. Jack Treinen suggested making a master schedule of all masses throughout the Church year for all Ministry coordinators to follow. There was also a discussion about having a Ministry Thank You Day.
Sanctuary Sound System Renovation
Was made as a goal for next year.
Summer Reading
The book Introduction to the Order of Mass which was distributed to each member at an earlier meeting is to be read entirely by the first meeting of next year (September 11, 2006).
