Meeting was opened with prayer in the chapel.

Side note from last month's minutes: Parish financial report will be going to Temporal affairs item 5b. Published at later time not in the bulletin.

The updated list for liaison role was passed out and looked at. Approved by all.

We had 2 speakers.

Bill Rice talked about Temporal Affairs and what a Development. Director can do for St. Vivian. The Development. Director is not only to be used as a fundraiser. They are also to carry out the mission of the parish or school, develop relationships between the parish and the school and to meet the goals. This needs to be someone who understands, believes and follows through with the goal(s).

1. What is it we want to accomplish through a Development Director? Public relations, recruitment, raise money (write grants), and finding alternatives to further the mission.

2. School principle and pastor cannot do all of this by themselves. The Development. Director can help with this task.

Bill Cavanaugh has been working with the President of Chaminade-Julienne to come up with a job description. One thing discussed was doing a parish newsletter to let the parish and school know what is going on in both places. Another point was to keep fund raising small. List 5 major things we want to accomplish and contact 100 parishoners to reach out to them.

Some questions to be considered while looking for a Development. Director:
1. What do you want to accomplish?

2. Is there a clear mission?

3. Are there current needs?

4. Is there a plan in place?

5. What kind of database?

6. What type of communication?

7. Who will the person report to?

Fr. Jack will get staff trained on this topic and begin to look at parish members who he thinks would be good for the job. He would like for the staff and Parish Pastoral Council to work together to come up with a job description in order to help fill the position. Fr. Jack asked for the approval of the council to pursue this. All were in favor. One question was brought up about the ability of the parish to afford this.

St. James White Oak changed pastors and the Archbishop wanted an idea of priests who could be a new dean. List was passed out to all members. We rated the people and passed them back to Fr. Jack to turn in.

Bus survey was completed for the AMOS project.

Suggestions Read: Can we post a sign in church identifying the location of restrooms? Suggestion was forwarded to Kathy for the parish staff.

Meeting was ended with a prayer and adjourned.
