I. The meeting opened with the recitation of the Prayer for Vocations.

II. Jan Grimes moved, seconded by Paul Hess to approve the minutes of the September minutes.

III. Old Business

A. Katrina Relief

Dave Lennert talked to Mike Gable at the Archdiocese office about Twinning programs and received helpful guidance regarding setting up such a program. Mike stressed that Twinning is a program of mutual respect and not a "pity partner".  It was suggested to begin with a social function (worship and share a meal) to get to know each other and the needs of the parish.  Dave also talked to Deacon John Gerke of St. Clement parish who was preparing to visit  St. Mary of the Angels Parish in New Orleans.  He will report back to Dave following that visit.  Dave suggested that partnering with area parishes (St. Clement, St. Michael in Sharonville) might be helpful to get us started.

B. Survey Summary and Recommendations

Dave Nichols, Star Vondrell and Cindy Engelhardt presented detailed reports of the survey results.  They summarized several different areas stressing areas of highest concern . Those areas were seen as: Communication, Clarity of the roles of the various Councils/committees, Ministry for Young Adults, First Communion celebration, Music/Mass/Liturgy.  The members of the Council were urged to study the reports that were presented and bring to the November meeting our suggestions for targeting these concerns in formulating a 5 Year Plan.
