Mission Twinning Informational Update:
Father Jack has spoken with Father Bok who has made contact with a Franciscan Mission in Harlan, Kentucky. Brother Ligett will visit the November PPC meeting (which will be changed to November 20 to accommodate him) to discuss the project with the Council. Mike McMahon suggested creating a sub-committee and will contact Dan Besl and Sue Lennert to see if they will agree to be part of such a committee to study this issue. Members agreed with this plan.
Revitalizing St. Vivians social organizations:
Father Jack commented on this area which includes the St. Vivian Feast Day celebration, the progressive dinner, blood bank drive, and various social functions of the parish which have been held in the past. A fellowship committee coordinated these events in the past. A discussion followed on how to get parishioners to participate in these events. Mike McMahon will work with Linda Lennon to determine how to get the information to the parishioners. Fran Geier agreed to work with them.
St. Vivian Arts Fund:
Jerry Meyer came to the meeting to speak concerning efforts by a group of parents who have organized to promote the performing arts. With the help of the Boosters organization they have written a Statement of Purpose and By-laws which he submitted to Parish Council. It would be a group similar to the Athletic Boosters but supporting music and drama. Fund raising would not be in competition with the Boosters and parishioners would not be solicited for funds. The group would support events beyond school events. Tom Bove suggested that clear communication be made with the Temporal Affairs Committee regarding budgeting for these events. The parish would be kept fully informed about the groups efforts and would involve adults as well as children in the school. Mike McMahon put a motion before the Council to allow the formation of a boosters organization to support the performing arts in extra curricular activities, the success or failure of which would be dependent upon the organization itself.
Jay Broderick made the motion, seconded by Fran Geier. It was approved unanimously. Tom Bove will present the matter to the Finance Commission.
PPC Committee Liaison Update:
Members volunteered to be parish council liaisons for the following commissions:
Finance Commission John Hadden
Education Commission Kevin McMackin
Worship Commission Fran Geier

Open Discussion:
Fran Geier said that things are not being put back in order after receptions, etc. in the convent. The school may be part of the problem. Tom Bove suggested the matter be brought up at a Staff Meeting by Kathy.
Mike McMahon received a letter from Joan Gory and Kathy asking to be the organizing group for Donut Sundays.
Kathy Rothschild reported that the garage roof is being repaired.
It was also reported that pictures will be on the St. Vivian website shortly.
The November meeting will be held on November 20.
