I. The meeting opened with the recitation of the Prayer for Vocations.

II. Deb Kaehr moved, seconded by Jan Grimes to approve the corrected minutes of the October meeting, removing Kathy Rothschild’s name and adding Jeanne Schaeffer under “Members Present”. 

III. Old Business

A. Katrina Relief

After discussions with Mike Gable of the Archdiocesan Mission Office, Dave Lennert recommended that we work with St. Maria Goretti parish in East New Orleans as St. Mary is "on the cusp" of remaining a viable parish. A meeting has been scheduled for 12/12/06 with Mike Gable who will explain the process involved in "Twinning". We are asked to encourage the members of our liaison groups to attend this meeting.

B. Parish Survey Chief Concerns

1) An initial draft of the survey update was presented for review and suggestions prior to publication.

2) Fr. Paul suggested that the data pertinent to the 5 "Target Areas" be presented to these groups and ask them to report back at the January PPC meeting with an action plan to address areas of concern listed in the survey. These 5 areas and members who will contact/address the concerns are:

1. Communications: Jane Browe and Mary Ellen Smith

2. Clarity of the roles of the various Councils/Committees: Mike Ward and Deb Kaehr.

3. Music/Mass/Liturgy (Worship Commission): Jan Grimes

4. First Communion Celebration (Jodie Bender): Dave Lennert

3) Jane Browe suggested a personal thank you note be written to all of those who put their names on their survey.

C. Commission Reports

1) Education: Mary Ellen summarized the 11/9/06 meeting. Their minutes are posted on the parish website for review.

2) Temporal Affairs: No meeting to report on.

3) Worship Commission: Jan Grimes presented several suggestions that had been presented at their recent meeting.

IV. New Business

A. Joint meeting with St. Bart's and St. Vivian PPC & Staff

A meeting will be held December 14th at 7 pm in Ursuline Hall to discuss future collaborations of shared ministries between St. Bart's and St. Vivian parishes. This will take the place of our regular monthly meeting.

B.  Article IV, Section 5 St. Vivian Parish By-Laws

Fr. Paul will speak to Steve Bien regarding his ability to continue his service on the PPC in light of his continued absence from meetings.
