Members Present:
Fr. Paul, Teresa Besl, Lisa Brackmann, Jane Browe, John Hadden, Paul Hess, Dave Lennert, Dave Nichols, Mary Ellen Smith, Fran Vanarsdall-Schwartz, Deb Kaehr, Jan Grimes, Gus Geier, Mike Ward.
I. The meeting opened with the recitation of the Prayer for Vocations.
II. Lisa Brackmann moved, seconded by Paul Hess to approve the minutes of the 04/24/06 meeting as corrected.
III. Old Business
A. Survey Update
All data entry has been completed. Dave Nichols will present a summary report with recommendations at the September PPC meeting. The student survey data was presented to the staff. The Student instrument will be administered annually.
B. Commission Reports
1) Education: Mary Ellen reported on the update on school registrations for next year.
2) Temporal Affairs: John reported that they met to discuss member numbers, stewardship, etc.
3) Worship Commission: $3,000 collected to date for hymnals.
C. Katrina and Rita Relief
Fr. Paul reported that both parishes in Delcambre, LA are served by the same pastor. He will attempt to reschedule his visit at the end of June.
IV. New Business
A. Parish Picnic
The person who has chaired this event for several years is stepping down. There was a lengthy discussion of possible alternatives to this event. There was unanimous agreement to move the event off the date of “Packet Pick-up” for the school. It was agreed to investigate other options, including merging with the Picnic Under the Pines and using the Parish grounds.
B. Election of Officers for 2006-2007
Dave Lennert was elected President, Jane Browe, Vice President, Mary Ellen Smith, Secretary.
Fr. Paul extended his gratitude to Lisa Brackmann, Teresa Besl and John Hadden and Cindy Engelhardt for their dedicated service during a difficult time in our Parish’s history. He also welcomed the newly elected members.
V. Suggestion Box
One suggestion was passed to the festival committee and has been acted upon.
VI. Adjournment
John Hadden moved, seconded by Teresa Besl to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 following a closing prayer.
