Milt Partridge led the members in faith formation.

Deacon Larry Maag was introduced to Parish Pastoral Council. He will be serving St. Vivian Parish in the role of deacon.

Approval of January Minutes:

Kathy's name should be added as helping with the Volunteer Fair. Jenny Reker made a motion to accept the minutes as written, seconded by Bonnie Mack. With the above inclusion, approval of the minutes was unanimous.

Volunteer Fair

The Volunteer Fair has been moved to the weekend of April 6 - 7 and will be held in the activity center and lobby. Coffee and donuts will be available. It was suggested that popcorn be available on Saturday evening. A chairman has yet to be named.

Leadership Summit

Tom Bove has scheduled March 17, 7:00 PM, as the date for leaders of parish organizations to meet. Council liaisons need to contact their group leaders to inform them of the meeting. Tom is preparing an agenda which will include such items as procedure for reserving space for parish events, coordinating fundraisers of the various groups, enlisting volunteers, etc.

Discernment Sunday:

The weekend of March 2 - 3 has been designated as Discernment Sunday. Forms will be passed out before Masses for parishioners to nominate candidates for Parish Pastoral Council and the Education Committee. Council members will meet after the 11:30 Mass to sort the nominations. Jim Brown will meet with candidates at a later date.

Census Update:

Paul and Betty Ann Hess will be in charge of the parish census update. Forms will be available for parishioners to update information after Masses the weekend of April 9 - 10.

Long Range Planning:

Consideration needs to be given to parish long-range planning. Joe Staneck, Tom Bove, Joe Zins, Kathy Rothschild, Kevin McMackin, Father Jack and Bill Lonneman will meet to discuss future planning for the parish.

Relations with Neighboring Churches:

An attempt needs to be made to develop a closer relationship with churches in the St. Vivian Parish vicinity. Father Jack stated that representatives of ten churches in the area are getting together at the present time once a month. Interfaith services are held at Thanksgiving and Good Friday. The CROP walk is also sponsored by these churches. The Baptist Church across the street is not involved in this group but there has been an attempt to involve the pastor of the Baptist Church at Compton and Daly Roads.

Suggestion Box:

No suggestions were received.

Open Discussion/Walk-On Items:

A request was received on the web site from Mary Kent for transportation assistance for parishioners to get to doctor appointments, etc. and asking for a person whom they could be put in contact with. Bill Lonneman has agreed to resurrect the Network of Care, which has not been active recently, and Kathy will pass the item on to him. A suggestion was made to put a notice in the bulletin asking for volunteers for this service for parishioners.

Peg Mersch relayed a message from Anita Bidleman that choices of pre-planned funeral arrangements will be offered to parishioners - arrangements geared to children, father, mother, etc. Council members agreed this would be a good idea and should be followed up.

The meeting was adjourned with prayer.
