III. SETTING 2007-2008 COUNCIL AGENDA

A. Major Active Initiatives

1. Twinning

Jeanne Schaeffer shared a DVD of photos from the initial visit of a team of St. Vivian parishioners to St. Maria Goretti in New Orleans in early July.  Our representatives were:  Jeanne Schaeffer, Fr. Paul, Pat Youngblood and Sue Lennert.  As a result of this visit, a drive was started to collect school supplies and sports equipment, religious articles and pots and pans, kitchen supplies and used books for use in the parish center of St. Maria Goretti which serves as the community center for that neighborhood.  The next goal of the Twinning program is to set the date for a work trip.  The next meeting will be Aug. 29th at 7pm to begin that discussion. Jeanne asked the PPC to be thinking of ways to expand individual members’ roles in the Twinning program.  Fr. Paul asked for a vote of support from the PPC members for the Twinning program.   Greg Hogg suggested that Worship, Education Commission, Finance, PTA, Boosters and PPC report back with concrete ways that they can support the Twinning program this year within their organizations.

2. Grateful Believers

Joe and Linda Staneck presented a Power Point summary of the Grateful Believers program that has started at St. Vivian. They outlined the three goals: 1) Awareness 2) Engagement, and 3) Outreach. In support of the engagement goal, Joe requested that PPC provide Guidance and facilitation to the Ministries through the established liaisons after the Grateful Believers program ends in early November. Linda suggested that each of the groups be contacted by their PPC liaison and ask them to review their goal setting and growth plans for their group.

IV. PPC VISION FOR 2007-2008

Jane asked the members "What is Your Vision?"  Due to the lateness of the meeting, it was suggested that we email Jane with thoughts on this question for discussion at the Sept. 24th meeting.

V. ADJOURNMENT

Gus Geier moved, seconded by Tony Mastriani to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned following a closing prayer.  Next meeting is 9/24/07
