St. Vivian Parish Pastoral Council Meeting
April 25, 2005
Members Present:
Fr. Paul, John Hadden, Kathy Rothschild, Teresa Besl, Kathy Humbert, Dave Nichols, Fran Vanarsdall-Schwartz, Vivian Wagner, Lisa Brackman, Cindy Engelhardt, Star Vondrell, Paul Hess, Amy Hagedorn.
I. John Hadden opened with prayer
II. Lisa Brackman moved, seconded by Vivian Wagner to approve the minutes of the February 28, 2005 meeting as written.
Teresa Besl moved, seconded by Vivian Wagner to approve the minutes of the April 4, 2005 meeting with two spelling corrections.
III. Old Business
a. Upcoming Elections
There are 6 candidates for the 4 positions open on Parish Pastoral Council and 4 candidates for the 3 positions on the Education Commission. Biographies of all candidates will appear in the May 15th bulletin with elections held on May 22nd.
IV. New Business
a. Budget (Kathy Rothschild) Kathy gave a detailed presentation of the proposed budget for the next Fiscal Year which included a proposed tuition increase for the 2005-2006 school year.
John Hadden thanked Kathy for her hard work in preparing this budget and moved to accept the budget as presented along with the proposed tuition increase. Motion carried.
b. Picnic Under the Pines
A picnic will be held Saturday, June 4, 2005 following the 4:30p.m. Mass “under the pines” on the church grounds. Grilled meat, chips, pop and water will be provided along with a live band for entertainment. All parish members, friends and neighbors are encouraged to attend.
V. Suggestion Box
None received
VI. Announcements
There will be no meeting in May. The next meeting will be held June 6th in the rectory and will include both the newly elected members and the current members of council.
VII. Adjournment
John Hadden moved, seconded by Teresa Besl to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was closed with prayer.
