Welcoming/Opening Prayer
Meeting was called to order, and opened with a prayer.
Secretary's Report
Meeting minutes for 8/20 were reviewed and a correction was made to the section regarding the school directories. The PTA will distribute the directories to each family, regardless of payment of PTA dues. The school office will be notified of this change.
Treasurer's Report
Account balance is 1698.93. This should be the lowest level of the year. 222 families have paid PTA dues.
Pastor's Report
Fr. Kroeger was not in attendance.
Principal's Report
The year is going well. Picture day was today, and the even grades are anticipating the Terra Nova testing in October. Also, for information next year, one fourth-grade classroom was skipped for the furniture distribution. This year it would be nice to cover the two fifth grade classes, and the fourth grade class.She also noted both cafeteria monitors have resigned their positions due to extenuating circumstances. There are 2 openings now.
Old Business
Innisbrook - Janine Winters reported the 29th is the final day for the sale.Zone Book - 70 books so far have been sold. We discussed the opportunity of selling books at other locations such as masses etc.
Book covers - We sold all but 1 cover, and will plan on ordering 200 for next year's packet pickup day.
Job List - Christmas Ornament will be discontinued.
Pancake Breakfast may be teamed up with a Sunday open house for Catholic Schools Week, but we do not have a chair yet.
Teacher's seminar - A motion to grant $10 per teacher for parking/lunch assistance was motioned and passed. Janine will give the teachers their money.
Halloween Happening - Following up on Chris's idea at the last meeting, Jean is checking out Tuesday Oct 28th availability for the cafeteria. Family participants will bring their own pumpkins and carving tools, and the PTA will supply refreshments and decorate. Chris Monzel will Chair, since it was his fine idea. We will finalize plans at the next meeting.
New Business
Child Protection Training - Board members need to be trained. Jean Margello will hold a training session after the next PTA meeting (Oct 15th) for our convenience. It will also be open to parishioners.Welcoming Committee -Lori will send welcoming letters to new families joining the school this year. List will be provided by Jean Margello.
Miscellaneous: Jeannie Pratt is resigning from PTA. We need a letter from her to confirm. Laura Williamson suggested using tuition reduction as a form of rewards during fundraising.
