St. Vivian PTA Meeting Minutes

March 15, 2006

Members Present: 

Maria Henn, Deb Ruter, Kim Hafele, Amy Hagedorn, Shelley Hoesel, Mike Ward, Amy Miller, Hope Maier, Emily Hutzel, Amy Grider, Julie Bergmann. Judy Rolfert, Jean Margello

Opening Prayer: 

Prayer for Vocations was read by Shelley Hoesel

Secretary’s Report: 

Meeting minutes from 2/15/06 were reviewed and approved

Treasurer’s Report: 

Mike Ward.  Faculty needs were discussed.  Judy Rolfert recommended possible technology fund to supplement computer equipment, esp. ink cartridges for printers, etc.  Jean Margello suggested helping to fund religious education dept. for buses to various service projects.

Principal’s Report:  Jean Margello. 

Jean is busy trying to recruit more students and working on setting school budget for next year.  We currently need 20 more students to remain at the current budget.

Old Business:

  1. General meeting:  The consensus is that the meeting was well attended ant went very well.
  2. Chuck e Cheese:  This event will not work this spring due to scheduling conflicts.
  3. Moeller Greenhouse:  We will not be doing this year since Youth Ministry is also doing.
  4. Candle Sale:  Deadline is March 24th Candles will be in the week before Easter
  5. Ice Cream Social:  Date is May 3rd, UDF is providing the ice cream and there will be entertainment again this year.
  6. Walk a Thon: Letters are circulating for donations.  The tee shirts are ordered for each class.  There will be movie days for goals being met.
  7. Faculty Appreciation Dinner:  The date is set for May 9th at the White House Inn. Amy Miller and Julie Bergmann to make table favors. Shelley H. will have donation from Jergens for the favor bags.
  8. Track and Field Day:  Nothing new to report
  9. Graduation:  Nothing new to report
  10. School Kits:  Nothing new to report:  Shelley to get in touch with Lori Spinnenweber who has chaired this program 

New Business:

1. Election of board members and officers for 2006/2007 school year.  The results are:

President:  Hope Maier, 1st Vice President, Emily Hutzel, 2nd Vice President, Amy Hagedorn, Corresponding Secretary, Amy G. Miller, Recording Secretary, open position, Treasurer, Mike Ward

2. Fundraisers for 2006/2007:  Survey of families is complete.  More people prefer to spread the fundraisers out over the entire year versus committing to one single event.  Also Market Day offers other fundraisers. Mike to look into them.

3. PTA Dues:  It was suggested that dues be raised to 7 dollars a year per family for next school year.  Motion was approved by the board.

4. Festival:  It was suggested that PTA donate 100 dollars toward basket extravaganza.  Motion was approved by the board.

 

Meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting is scheduled for April 26th at 7:00pm in the faculty lounge.
