Welcoming/Opening Prayer
Meeting was called to order, and opened with a prayer.
Special Presentation
The Representative from "One for the community" gave a presentation for her fundraising group. This would take the place of the Innisbrook program, and the Zone book sale. No decision was made, and Janine has an appointment with Innisbrook this Friday.
Secretary's Report
Meeting minutes for 1/21 were reviewed and approved.
Treasurer's Report
Account balance is $11,891.84. Total expenses are $821.96. Deposits $554.32.
Pastor's Report
Fr. Kroeger was not in attendance.
Principal's Report
Mrs. Margello has scheduled a Personal Protection program for the entire school on March 18 - 20. This is an Archdiocese approved program that addresses problem with bullying, peer pressure and sexual abuse. Information on this program will be sent home to parents.Also, Mrs. Margello has asked PTA for funding regarding 2 educational programs focusing on Science &endash; Crystal Clear Science ($700) and COSI on wheels ($840) for the 2004 - 2005 school year. Motion to pay for both programs was passed. Dates for both programs will be published.
Old Business
Teachers Wish list - Discussion for school lanyards was tabled, we discussed giving each teacher $150 for spring classroom needs. Motion was passed, and the checks will be sent out by the end of the month.Zone Book - Kathleen is closing out the account this week.
General PTA Meeting - March 17th. Anita is scheduling Poison Control Center for a presentation and we are positioning this as a young sitter informational meeting.
New Business
PTA Officers for next year- Nominations were made, Lori will send out invitations to the 15 nominees.Faculty Dinner- Will be held at the Mill at Winton Woods Golf Course. Nancy will put a deposit down on a May 4th reservation.
Amy Hagedorn offered to arrange an all school skate party. There was discussion about liability of a school function like this one.
Barb Ballinger has solicited a donation for the Basket Extravaganza.
Moeller Greenhouses has a 10% to your school program that would allow 10% of a customer's purchase to be sent to SVS. PTA will send out the letter in a Friday folder. All proceeds will be earmarked for the Linda Dodd Memorial Garden.
Board members discussed issues around the choices the children are given in the cafeteria. Jean Margello is going to handle the comments.
