Treasurer's Report

Accounts total $5246.27. Our accounts have generally had about $12 - 15,000.00 to begin the year.

The teachers were given their start up money on Monday evening.

Fran asked that everyone who must make purchases for the PTA, please contact her to get the tax-exempt number. After the purchase, please use a reimbursement form, available from Fran.

FANS will be reimbursing the PTA for the bus that was used for the choir bus trip.

Principal's Report

Mr. Cavenaugh has the name of a detective who would be able to come talk with the parents about Internet safety. He wanted to know if we wanted this to be a PTA event. Kim will talk with him about this.

Halloween Parade was discussed. He would OK the parade if there was an interest in it. He also wanted to look into having the 8th grade work on a carnival during the Halloween Party/Parade.

Kids would like to have a student council. It would need parent support and input. This needs to be discussed further.

General Business

A. Innisbrook. The kickoff is on the 9th and it runs until the 30th. Marybeth McGraw wants the board to consider who might be willing to take her place, so that someone will be able to shadow her during the sale.

B. School Supplies - 92 families ordered.

C. Parish Picnic - we are responsible for the games. Motion was made that we discontinue providing the games for the parish picnic. All were in favor of discontinuing PTA sponsoring the games.

D. Campbell's Soup Labels - Amy Zust collects the labels. She may need to have a back up.

E. Graduation - Everyone appeared to like the signs that were placed on the front lawn. Next year we may want to rethink having the pizza at the graduation party. We also may need to look into the time frame of the party.

F. Land's End - Martha will look into who sent out the information and about our participation.

G. Ceiling Fans - The lower level could not be installed because other work was scheduled for those rooms. The other work was then cancelled, because it was not in the budget. Volunteers needed to be recruited again to install the fans. The fans were put in under budget.

H. Secret Pal -Barb Ballinger will continue to do this.

I. Linda Dodd Memorial - Bricks are in. PTA was asked to help out with the installation. PTA is not otherwise involved.

J. Survey's -We made about $300 from the survey that was completed this summer. A contact has been made with a company that will contact us if they have other surveys available.

K. Market Day - Most Market Day sales are on the 3rd Saturday, but some are not, so check the calendar. This will be Fran's last year, so we need a volunteer to take over. The order forms go through the school, not through church.

New Business

A. Introductions - All members introduced themselves. All members were asked to look over the constitution and by-laws.

B. Christmas Ornaments - Sue CaJacob will continue to sell them until they are all gone. Need to look into whether there will be a new design each year.

C. Everybody Counts - Jean Merz is looking for a volunteer to take over.

D. PTA newsletter will become part of the principal's letter.

E. Playground equipment. We may need to set up a fund for replacement of the playground equipment. Kim reported that the Parish Council and Father Jack do not wish to explore the possibility of placing a fence on the playground.

F. Publicity - Mr. Cavenaugh wanted look into having someone who could make our school more visible in publications such as the Catholic Telegraph. Kim made a motion that we look into having a PR person, Ann seconded, and all were in favor.

Kim motioned that the meeting be adjourned, Janine seconded.

Meeting adjourned at 8:30p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Martha Siegel
