Meeting was called to order, and Tawnya McMahan opened with a prayer.

Secretary's Report

Meeting minutes were reviewed and approved.

Treasurer's Report

Fran is turning over the accounts to Janine Winters. Final account balance is 4414.94.

Pastor's Report

Fr. Kroeger was not in attendance.

Principal's Report

Mrs. Margello reports the enrollment is up to 406 students this year. The furniture ordered by PTA is installed in the classrooms. Judy Rolfert is this year's teacher rep to PTA. Mrs. Margello also reported on the schedules for the nurse, psychologist, and computer center. She also noted a new position that is called cafeteria monitor, which will replace teacher monitors in the cafeteria at lunchtime. 2 people will share this position.

Old Business

Innisbrook

Janine Winters is co-chair, and will shadow Mary Beth so she can take over for the 2004 school year.

Zone Book

Jacque and Kathleen are chairs for this year. PTA will send out a flier in the first Friday packet, and they will also be available at Market Day.

The Write Stuff

We assume the supplies are in, and will be available at packet pick-up. Nancy Slayton will sell the 100 book covers we purchased from Market Day, and they will be available during packet pick up times.

Campbell Soup Labels

Mrs. Margello noted that while the reward Pizza Party was very popular with the students, it is a hardship fro the teachers. A motion was made to have the PTA take on the responsibility of organizing and executing the party this year. Motion was passed.

Graduation

Nancy Slayton noted that the Graduation was a successful event. The expenses in the Treasurers' report do not include the floral bill, which apparently is in the PTA mailbox. Lori will check on that. Also, Nancy Burke and Kim Parker would like to continue their involvement with this event.

Teacher Appreciation Dinner

Nancy Slayton reports final cost is 612.00. We will look into a different location for this year's event.

Land's End

We will hold on this program for the time being.

Desks

All of the desks ordered are in. We need to get a count of the desks needed to purchase for this year.

Secret Pal

Barb Ballanger will continue to help with this program. Motion to increase the per-gift amount from 3 to 5 dollars was passed.

Linda Dodd Memorial

Additional funds may be needed next year for perennials and repair. Barb Ballanger will keep us informed.

Surveys

Martha Siegel will continue the P&G connection; there will be a toothpaste survey at the packet pick up.

Market Day

Nancy Slayton volunteered to take over the Saturday distribution and volunteers, if someone else can coordinate the orders. We decided to give it one more shot in Quicklets to see if anyone is interested in helping out.

Parish Picnic

Lori Spinnenweber is having games made; we need someone to deliver them to the Picnic. The games will reside in the PTA closet.

New Business

Lori introduced the new members on the board.

Calendar

Everybody counts is now Nov 3-7

Santa shop is locked in, but we will contact Theresa Eve to see if it can be moved closer to Christmas.

Directories

Directories will be distributed to every family regardless of if they paid PTA dues. This is a new policy for PTA, and we will notify the office to change the "Packet letter."

Halloween Party

There was a discussion on the program. Chris Monzel had an idea that the PTA could sponsor a parent/child pumpkin carving night that would be more of an activity, rather than just collecting candy. We will discuss this at our next meeting.

Teacher's conference Sept 25/26

Jean Margello mentioned that the teachers pay for their own parking and lunch for this meeting. Any help from the PTA would be helpful. We will discuss at the next meeting.

St Vivian Ornament

We have 100 left. Will discuss at next meeting.

Pancake Breakfast

Discussed the possibility of combining this with a grand parents open house. Will discuss at next meeting.

Meeting was adjourned.
