2) SECRETARY'S REPORT

May minutes reviewed.

 

3) TREASURER'S REPORT

Theresa McGoron reported a checking account balance of $9,425.11 and a savings account balance of $4,963.11.

 

4) FATHER JACK

Expressed appreciation to all the members of the board . Spoke of the changes in the rectory.

Gregg Hogg has taken a new job, but will still be handling the RCIA program and Chris Siciliano will be handling some of the pastorial associate duties, along with adult education. She will need part time person to help with religious education. Kathy Rothschild is the new business manager and Dee Bok is the new church secretary. The accoustics were installed in the Activity Center this summer. Father Jack commented that it made a big difference in the sound. He also noted the need to watch the churches expenses due to the cost of the Parish Activity Center. Apparently there has been quite a few deaths of parishioners who had pledged money toward gym.

 

5) PRINCIPAL

Kevin Vance the new principal was in attendance. He was with Summit Country Day for seven years.

He is changing the school announcements from once/week to once/month. Any announcements for the following month must be turned in by the third Friday of the previous month. The school theme this year is "Angels Among Us". The goal will be for each class to be involved in community service.

WISH LIST: Field trips 2/class $4250.00, $50.00 seed money for each teacher &endash; total of $1800.00, Library $500.00, Art supplies $500.00, Chairs for the first grade $900.00, Furniture for the fourth grade $1700.00, salaries for PE, Computer, Art and Music Teachers $16116.57. This makes a total of $25, 766.57. He also proposed replacing the furniture in one classroom each year. His currently working on finding new gym teachers and a new music teacher. Mr. Voss and Mrs. Junker will not be returning as gym teachers. Mrs. Frondorf has excepted a position with the University of Cincinnati.

 

6) OLD BUSINESS

a). Market Day &endash; Ann McMackin was in attendance. She and Joanne Fiorini are co-chairing this fundraiser. Market Day brings in approximately $500/month in profit. Volunteers needed to help on third Saturday of the month.

b). Innisbrook Wrap Sales- Maribeth McGraw was in attendance. The sale will start on September 13th and if permissable, she would like to have an assembly to kick off the sale. This fundraiser brought in over $11,000.00 profit last year and has always been a big money maker for the school. Maribeth expressed appreciation with Innisbrook's reputation and cooperation over the last few years and hopes we will continue working with them.

c). Piles of Pennies &endash; idea proposed to have each class collect pennies for the charity of their choice.

d). Everybody Counts &endash; need to check with Joy George regarding any plans for this year.

e). Track & Field Day &endash; Rhonda Morgan felt everything went well despite the fact that it rained. Plenty of volunteers this year. $235 spent in expenses.

f). Donut Sunday &endash; September 26th &endash; volunteers for 8:15 mass are Laura Hagen and Theresa McGoron, 10:00 mass are Laura Kalas and Mary Hanson and for 11:30 mass Mary Jo Heekin and Theresa Eve.

g). School Supply list &endash; supplies should be in this week, over $2300.00 in sales.

h). St Vivian Parish Picnic &endash; Beckie will help set up Put-Put and bring goodies.

i). Secret pal &endash; will continue

j). Campbell's Labels &endash; gym equipment purchased and should be in close to the start of school.

k). Graduation- went well

l). Lands End- agreed to continue

 

7) NEW BUSINESS

a). Welcome new members and introductions were made.

b). Job Distribution List &endash; everything filled except for Surveys and Graduation.

c). PTA Pancake Breakfast &endash; still with Santa on December 5th . Kim Parker chairs this event.

d). Directories &endash; Laura Kalas and Pam Bias-Daniels will check with Mrs. Ortman and Tom Schnur about getting these started. Extra directories will cost more this year.

e). Christmas Tree &endash; Sally Merkle will coordinate with 3rd grade teachers.

f). Child Abuse Class &endash; anyone working as a volunteer with school must take this class and inform the rectory of your completion. St. Vivians will offer this class on October 19th and 21st.

 

8) OTHER BUSINESS

a). PTA Meeting dates need to be given to Mrs. Ortman

b). Cafeteria Volunteers &endash; Polly Lacker reported that all of the volunteers spots have been filled and she currently has 23 people on the sub list.

 

9) ADJOURNMENT - The meeting was adjourned at 8:35.
