What is Grateful Believers?

Over the next several weeks, St. Vivian will be studying the concept of stewardship and its impact upon our parish. This process is called Grateful Believers and will help each of us learn something about ourselves as stewards and how to put our stewardship into action.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops defines stewardship in this way:

"Who is a Christian steward? One who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord."
From the Bishop's Pastoral Letter on Stewardship, Stewardship: A Disciple's Response

During Grateful Believers, you are going to hear and learn a lot about personal stewardship and the stewardship of our parish through:

* Parish Action Plan (to be distributed at all Masses 9/22 & 9/23)
* Prayer Journal (to be distributed at all Masses 9/29 & 9/30)
* Bulletin Announcements
* Quicklets
* Lay Witness
* Homilies
* Ministry Fair (10/20 & 10/21)
* Covenant Weekend (10/27 & 10/28)

Please give special attention to these extraordinary events in the life of our parish. Meditate on the meaning of stewardship in your life. Most of all, let us pray together; Lord, what do You want to do through me to accomplish Your will for my parish? And then, Listen closely for His answer.
