The Principal's Report centered on four topics:

Additions and revisions to the handbook were discussed. Errors were noted for correction. Approval was unanimous.

2. In-Control Junior High Chastity Program.

A summary of the Junior High Evaluation of the 2003-04 program was presented as a handout. There was discussion concerning the addition of the 6th grade to the program. It was decided to continue with a Fall Presentation for Grades 7 and 8. A Spring program was approved for Grade 6.

3. The new Social Studies text adoptions were approved.

The new texts address the changes made to the Social Studies Graded Course of Study in the Archdiocese. The new curriculum must be in place by the 2004-05 school year. Texts from McGraw-Hill will be purchased for Grade K - 4. Texts from Prentice Hall will be purchased for Grade 5 - 8.

The total cost is approximately $20,000, to be paid for with Auxiliary Services Funds.

4. Reformulation of Crisis Plan.

The St. Vivian Elementary Crisis and Emergency Plan was last updated in 1998. Since 9/11, the Archdiocese has lengthened the list of Suggested Topics for a Crisis Plan. Jean Margello asked for volunteers to work as a team to reformulate the Crisis Plan. Volunteers are: Jim Siegel, Kim Neltner, Tony Mastriani, Darrin Roll and Maria Meyer. Anyone having access to Crisis Plans from other schools is encouraged to bring them to the next meeting.
