G. Reports on Unfinished Business:

1. Identify Commissioners for 2007/2008 school year:

     a. Girls Basketball Tournament (Brian Hoffman is outgoing Director)

     b. Girls Basketball (Dan Valerio is outgoing Commissioner)

2. Recruit new Board Members to replace people with expiring terms (all) Mark Ballinger will place a plea in the bulletin for a Booster Board membership drive

3. Spirit Wear Director position phasing out at end of year (Valerio) The process of 3rd party vendor to provide Spirit Wear has eliminated the need for this be a Booster Position.  Thanks to Robin Tosch for her service to this process.

4. Missing Tables Ð found, not taken by Boosters, issue closed (Valerio)

5. Automatic External Defibrillator (Valerio) Ð St. Vivian purchasing with a grant. Seeking people to be trained. Interested people should contact Jean Margello.

6. Buddy Cards Ð Any revisions to the program for 2008? (Brian Hoffman) We will re-visit in the Fall of 2008 how and if we continue the Buddy Card program in 2008.  Brian Hoffman will continue to coordinate the program if we decide to continue with the cards.

7. Issues with CYO allocation of basketball home games (Haverland) Board members received the letter for comments and suggestions.  Dan Valerio will follow-up with Jim Haverland.

8. New Floor for Activity Center Ð any new info from PPC special Finance Task Force? (Ballinger)

FACT committee needs 2 -3 more months to put together their Financial model for the parish.  The FACT group does not see any roadblocks to installing a new floor in the Activity Center.  Fr. Paul supports waiting on the FACT team findings and final report before making a decision on installing the floor.

9. St. Vivian / St. Barts combining into a ÒPastoral RegionÓ. No new info Ð keep on agenda.

10.

H. New Business:

1.      Gate Fees and Re-entry stamp (Rob Wilking) Recommend adding $5.00 Maximum for families to the sign.  Rob Wilking will handle changing the sign.  A suggestion was made to contact Tom Bove about changing the sign.

2.      LogoÕd entrance mats for Activity Center (Brian Frey, Dan Valerio) Ð St. Vivian Administration had them removed. Converge on response. Draft e:mail letter to Fr. Paul was reviewed.  Motion made and accepted to contact Cintas with our interest to purchase the mats. Dan will make a few adds to the letter before forwarding and meeting with Fr. Paul.

3.      Standard for gate fees for CYO Tournaments? (Jim Haverland) CYO has no policy concerning gate fees for tournament games.  Experience shows the range for most gyms is $2 .00 - $3.00. Our fees are in the low range but will continue the same path for 2007/08 seasons.

4.      Sabres backdrop for Team Pictures (Andrew Burton) Working with Stan from All Star Photography on sizing the backdrop.  Andrew will connect with Tom Bove on pricing once we receive the backdrop size.

5.      Boys Football, follow-up to continuing discussions regarding program philosophy (Dan Hawkins, Steve Crawford) Dan Valerio reviewed the Booster & CYO handbooks prior to opening up a discussion involving the program.   Dan Hawkins and Steve Crawford met off line prior to the March meeting to discuss the program.  Steve provided a background of the football program at the meeting while Dan Hawkins provided some concerns from the parents.  Steve compares the Varsity squad to an ÒAÓ level team in basketball.  Some of SteveÕs main objectives are to win and have fun.  Steve is trying to get his players ready to play at the next level.  (high school)  Dan Hawkins has a concern the players are not learning the needed skills (pass blocking/timing/etc) to play at the next level.  There seems to be a disconnect between the varsity and reserve teams, the perception is that it is not a football program but 2 separate teams/programs. (Uniforms are different / separate banquets for the teams) Common themes from discussion: 1. winning  vs winning at all costs  2. what are the kids learning, techniques,  qualities of practice  3. limited opportunity for playing time   Conclusion: Dan Hawkins will put together concrete proposals for the football program and will share at the next meeting.
