Boys Football Ð Steve Crawford: No report
Boys Basketball Ð Jim
Haverland: The 5th grade team has new coaches. One week left in the regular
season. St Vivian will host 6 CYO
tournament games on 2/25. Jim will
get with Martha and Carol to discuss concessions during the CYO tournament
games. Jim will also check with
CYO to see if there is any standard for gate fees for CYO tournament
games. Basketball Banquet
scheduled 3/25 in the evening.
Girls Volleyball Ð Andrew
Burton.: Girls VB tournament is cancelled. Andrew is interested in looking at scheduling the gym
for next yearÕs tournament.
Special thanks to Andrew and Jenny Hoeh for all their efforts concerning
the 2007 Girls VB tournament.
Andrew will investigate the possibility of getting a backdrop for the
team pictures.
Andrew is also requesting
funds for the 8th grade girls for tee shirts since their tournament
was cancelled.
A motion was made and passed
to fund $15 per 8th grade player to purchase tee shirts for the
girls in lieu of a VB tournament
Track Ð Marty McClelland
Marty is
co-coaching with Assumption coach Len Carraher. The track program will be 3rd Ð 8th
grades boys and girls.
Baseball Ð Matt Hagen:
Update is as follows: via
E:mail
Baseball will be having
three teams this year. A 4th grade
team, a 5th/6th combined team, and an 8th grade team. I will try and put a budget together once I have a good
handle on the uniforms. If I need
a few additional uniforms I will probably need about $500 above and beyond the
registration fees.
I will need a $360 check for
ÒCYOÓ to cover the team registration fees.
Volleyball Ð Joan Eckart
One 4th grade team
Laura Brenner and Julie Stark are coaches. Five 6th graders signed up and Joan is working
with other schools to form a team.
Girls Softball Ð Brian Hoffman
One 3rd grade team
4th graders that
signed up have the option to play with St AnnÕs
Only one player signed up for
the 5th Ð 8th grade teams. They were not interested in pursuing another team.
Brian needs approximately $420
for uniforms and supplies for the 3rd grade team. Brian will make sure the coaches
receive the Child Protection classes.
G. Reports on Unfinished
Business:
1. Identify Commissioners for 2007/2008 school year:
a. Girls Basketball Tournament (Brian Hoffman is outgoing
Director) no progress
b. Girls Basketball (Dan Valerio is outgoing Commissioner)
no progress
c. Girls Basketball Concessions (Brian Hoffman offered to
be Coordinator)
2. New Floor for Activity Center Ð any new info from PPC special
Finance Task Force? (Mark Ballinger) No additional information from the Finance
Task Force. The main driving force
for the new floor is safety concerns.
Brian Frey will bring the issue to the Finance team at the next meeting.
3. LogoÕs on entrance mats for Activity Center (Brian
Frey) Completed
4. Automatic External Defibrillator, should St. Vivian
have one? should Boosters fund it and train coaches? Ð (Jim Haverland / Dan
Valerio) Carry-over to next month.
5. St. Vivian / St. Barts combining into a ÒPastoral
RegionÓ. No new info Ð keep on agenda.
6. Gate Fees and Re-entry stamp: Rob will work this and
have something prepared at the March meeting.
H. New Business:
1. Issues with CYO??? (Haverland) Jim has a concern with
the amount of home games given to the 7th and 8th grade
teams. The 7th grade
ÒAÓ team only had 4 home games and a 8th grade team only had 3 home
games. Gym time/open dates were
given to the CYO office and were available for more home games. We had 6 weekend dates this season with
only 2 games taking place on those dates. Another issue is the cancelling the Girls VB games during the
snow weekend and rescheduling the boys basketball games. Jim Haverland will forward his concerns(
draft a letter) to Dan Valerio. Dan will prepare and forward the letter to the CYO office.
2. Buddy
Cards Ð keep for future? (Valerio) $1300 dollars net plus 2 scholarships is the
incentive to keep the program.
Brian will bring a proposal to the March meeting.
3. Missing Tables Ð 5 of the new cafeteria tables are
missing (Valerio) This is just a FYI for Booster Board member to keep a look
out for the missing tables. One
suggestion was that they may be stored in the visitorÕs locker room.
4. Start recruiting new Board Members to replace people
with expiring terms. Ongoing
5. Dan Hawkins still plans to meet with Steve Crawford to
discuss the goals of football program for the 2007 season.
