F. Reports from Sport Commissioners
1. Girls Basketball - Mike Colliera) Banquet held December 5thb) Some phone calls received expressing interest in being commissioner for 2005 season
c) 7th grade team (Perdrix) went to final four of CYO tournament
d) 95% of uniforms collected
2. Boys Basketball - Jim Haverland - no report, not present, these items were discussed
a) Many complaints about how tournament concessions were scheduled, in particular that 1-hr blocks were too short to be worthwhileb) Boosters are open to any system that works
c) Concessions Manager for that sport-season has final decision on how they want to do it
d) It would be helpful to have something in writing at sign-up for that sport so parents know what to expect.
3. Girls Volleyball - Beth Hurd report via e-mail
a) Some issues coordinating boys basketball and girls volleyball practice timeb) Jim Gantt was unaware of issues, will facilitate scheduling
Per Jim Gantt: Gym closed December 23rd - 27th for Christmas activities and installation of the motorized backboard winches. Available on 28th - 30th.
4. Boys Football - Steve Crawford (submitted in writing)
a) Banquet complete, ~65 people attendedb) All equipment collected except one set.
c) Reserve team finished 3-3-3. Varsity finished 7-4 and made final 4.
d) Expect to have 35-40 varsity players in 2005 season. Compares to 18 who finished this year (out of 21 who signed up)
e) Won Winton Bowl Trophy (vs. St. Barts)
f) Would like new uniform pants next season. Need to evaluate if $40 registration is enough - other schools charge $100/player. Budget for 2005 season will include pants and review of registration fee. Steve will scan eBay for deals on equipment.
g) Steve wants Jim to contact Finneytown in January to reserve field time - will request every Sunday afternoon in September and October.

G. Reports on Unfinished Business
1. Scoreboard Sponsor Contracts: reviewed in "E", report from Corresponding Secretary2. Texas Hold'em tournament: We will need to use experienced dealers if we hold a tournament
3. Recruiting Members for Board: see "H1"
H. New Business
1. Job Description and Work Processes &endash; all commissioners and directors will write their job descriptions2. Basketball Tournament Reports: Girls tournament successfully concluded. Summary of revenue and expenses presented. Tournament netted $1,529. No report on Boys tournament.
3. January 12th Parent Meeting re. Recognizing Bullying: No practices on January 12th so all coaches can attend meeting
4. Scoreboards and workers: Cause of scoreboard blackout believed to be power surge, perhaps from lightning. ~$1500 damage. Insurance will cover except $500 deductible. One scoreboard currently working. Regarding scoreboard workers sentiment is to use older kids (Jr. High or High School) for either pay or service hours as in past. Use of parents in 2004 was reaction to cash flow crunch in 2003 and not a change in philosophy about paying kids.
5. Electric Winches on backboards &endash; Installation complete. Electrical connection scheduled.
6. Spring Sports sign up: Will be handled through school mail.
7. Family Sports Pass discussed: Suggested by Dave Phillippi. Assumption pass is $30/family for all sports, not including tournament games. Does not make additional money, but attendance is up. ~$1800 revenue is received up front. St. Barts sells $10 punch cards. Once consumed, family can purchase additional card. Additional revenue could be had by finding a sponsor for the cards.
I. Next Meeting - January 10, 2005, in rectory basement
J. Close of Meeting - Concluded at 8:50 pm.
K. Closing Prayer - Led by Brian Eve.
Respectfully submitted by Dan Valerio, January 10, 2005
