C.  Reading/Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: Minutes accepted with changes noted.

 

D.  Treasurer's Report: Brian Frey

1.   Treasurer's report submitted and filed with the September minutes.

2.   Month end balance was $31,839.00, but misleading because:

A.   Families have paid for Spirit Wear ($2,464.00), but Boosters have not been invoiced.

B.    Boys basketball registration fee in, but referee fees not distributed ($3,000.00).

C.    Majority of girls volleyball registrations not in yet.

 

E.   Corresponding Secretary's Report: Cheryl Asper - No report.

 

F.   Reports from Sport Commissioners:

 

1.   Girls Basketball - Dan Valerio; Tournament - Brian Hoffman

Season halfway through and going well. Tournament started last weekend and off to a good start. Dan coordinating team moms and dads for concessions. Received $200.00 from ApplebeeÕs for tournament sponsorship (had originally asked for $500.00).

 

      2.   Boys Football - Steve Crawford; Punt, Pass & Kick Event - Dave Phillippi

            Steve Crawford - No report.

            Dave Phillippi - Will pass on names of winners of second round of PPK event held 10/8/05 at Paul Brown Stadium Practice Field to Corresponding Secretary.

 

3.     Boys Basketball - Jim Haverland

Sign-ups were September 19 - 15 teams, 130 players. 7th grade has 4 teams (split 1-A and 3-B teams; there were no relatives or coaches involved in splitting of teams). 6th grade has 3 teams and were split as evenly as possible; it was recommended that these teams be in the middle level league. Probably will need to purchase some new basketballs.

 

      4.   Girls Volleyball - Beth Hurd: No report.

 

5.   Track - John Fitzwater: No report.

 

6.     Baseball - Matt Hagen: No report.

 

7.     Boys Volleyball - Joan Eckart: No report.

 

8.     Girls Softball - Brian Eve: No report.

 

9.     Golf Outing - Mark Westerfeld: No report.

 

G.  Reports on Unfinished Business:

 

1.     Banking Location - Brian Frey

      Account was set up with Fifth Third and $1,000.00 was deposited at 5% interest.

 

2.   Scoreboard Advertising - Dave Phillippi

      Dave talked with Osterwisch (Mitch Williams) and waiting on reply for 5 year deal on scoreboard. Dave will contact Kathy Rothschild (St. V) and Ron Reidy (Coke) about Coke's advertising on scoreboard to see if check was received or to find out how Coke's advertisement appeared on boards. For Coke, propose 1 year rate and renew each year.

 

3.   Gym Needs for Winter Sports - Dan Valerio

      Dan passed out gym schedule from Chuck Grosser, Finneytown, to Jim Haverland for review.

 

4.     Closure on A/B split special meeting - Dan Valerio

This issue will remain closed for rest of school year.

 

5.   Constitution vote - Dan Valerio

      This issue will be moved to December meeting pending more research.

 

6.   2005/2006 Project Updates:

 

      A.  Communications to 2nd grade families - Dan Valerio

           3rd grade girls basketball have games on 10/19/05 and Dan will get notices out to 2nd grade families inviting them to attend game.

 

      B.  Coaching Seminars - Jim Haverland and Mark Ballinger

            Jim and Mark to contact area high schools to see if basketball coaches would be interested in holding a seminar for St. V coaches.

 

H.  New Business:

 

1.   Family Pass for Winter Sports - Rob Wilking

      Dan Valerio reported for Rob Wilking and passed around a Sample pass. The $20.00 pass would admit 2 adults, children free, and include all home plus tournament games. Logistics need to be worked out and Dan will discuss further with Rob.

 

2.   Guidelines for how to handle splitting teams - Bob Veatch: Not present.
