Meeting of General Members to vote on Constitution Proposal

Proposed Constitution Revisions that had been posted for the previous several weeks were accepted by vote of 8-0 with no further discussion.

General Meeting concluded, Board Meeting continued.

 

C. Reading/Approval of Minutes from Previous Meeting: April Meeting notes approved with minor corrections

 

D. Treasurer’s Report: Brian Frey

$40,500 Balance. Estimate is ~$34,000 after adjustment for unbilled expenses.

- ~$8,000 above same time last year

1. Girls Basketball & Tournament – Dan Valerio and Brian Hoffman

CYO meeting May 9th, will hand out St. Vivian tournament flyers there

Registration Wednesday, May 10 and Sunday, May 14

 

2. Boys Football Steve Crawford & David Phillippi (PP&K)

37 Varsity players, 23 Reserve players

Have 39 Varsity jerseys now, plenty of Reserve Jerseys

CYO meeting May 9th, will find out referee and league fees

Requested five home dates from Finneytown HS AD Chuck Grosser

Coaching staff is set for both teams, requested and received agreement to purchasing coaches hats and shirts

 

3. Boys Basketball – Jim Haverland

13 uniforms to be collected, players are identified

 

4. Girls Volleyball – Beth Hurd

3rd grade team is 1-5 with two games to go

4th/5th grade team is 4-1-1, tied for 2nd in league, two games to go

Account closed at Northside. All funds at 5/3 Bank

 

 2. Scoreboard Advertising: (Dave Phillippi)  

Mark Ballinger received $135 quote for new Wesbanco sign, seeking lower quote to maximize net profit. We are receiving $500 from Wesbanco to post their sign for 5 years.

David will instruct Paul how to remove the Coke signs so the panel might be reused. Need to “saw” through the double sided tape with fishing line.

5. Joe Zin’s Memorial

Discussed idea to waive 2006/2007 Booster fees for his 8th grade son. Dan and Steve Crawford to followup.

 

6. Candidates for Board and Commissioner Positions next year.

Reminder to seek candidates for Board positions.

 

7. Upgrading Activity Center Floor

Fr. Paul requested all St. Vivian organizations to freeze spending on special projects while the Parish Administration, Parish Pastoral Council, and Temporal Affairs develop a new long term strategy position. Boosters Board agreed to earmark funds for a new floor to protect possibility of it happening.

 

8. Booster Constitution Change

Completed at beginning of meeting.

 

9. Policy on How to recognize 8th graders for their last home game in their respective sports

No Report

 

 

H. New Business:

 

1. Proposal from parishioner to convert to pay-to-play and not have any more need for concessions or gate. Dan Valerio to develop survey to use at Girls Basketball registration to identify if this is appealing to others involved in Boosters.

 

2. Dates for 2006/2007 meetings – proposed keeping same 2nd Monday of the month dates. Proposal accepted.

 

3. Suggestion from Fr. Paul that Boosters take over sponsorship of High School aged teams from Jodie Bender. Board agreed it would sponsor these teams provided parents of the players provided organization and coaching for the teams – same as for the Grade School aged players.
