9. Golf Outing:
Tentative Date: September 8th (Friday) (Need rain contingency plan) Labor Day is September 4th. Booster members expressed concern with the date because of the Holiday. Mark Westerfeld will discuss this with his golf committee members and report back. Mark's plan is to switch the outing to a Friday afternoon to reduce the number of conflicts players have committing to a Saturday event.
Mark is looking into two options for the outing this year. Option 1 is switching to a 18 hole format at a regulation course (Glenview) The goal of Option 1 is to raise interest levels (increase participation within and outside of parish) and increase profits. The dinner will be slightly scaled back. (Brats, Metts, Burgers instead of steak)
Option 2 is the same format as past years. Golfers will play nine holes with a steak dinner at Hartwell. (Non-golfers are invited for the dinner afterwards)
The direction from the board is to move forward with golf outing. Mark will follow-up with the board on a firm date and format.
