2. Boys Football Steve Crawford & David Phillippi (PP&K)

Andrew Cobb finished in 4th place for his age group at the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition at Paul Brown Stadium.  Andrew competed during halftime of the Colts/Bengals game in November.

A $75.00 check was sent to Tom LeSaint to cover referee fees for the Varsity tournament game.

3. Boys Basketball - Jim Haverland

No Report

4. Girls Volleyball - Beth Hurd

The 4th grade sign-ups exceeded expectations, which lead to a shortage of uniforms.  New uniforms were ordered.  Tee shirts were also ordered to cover the first couple of games until the new uniforms arrive.

5. Track - John Fitzwater

A proposal was made to merge with Assumption for the 2006 track season.  The 2005 track season was cancelled due to a lack of assistant coaches.  Assumption is willing to take all of the St. Vivian kids that want to participate.  The fee for track at Assumption is $35.00 plus $7.00 for a shirt.

St. James Wyoming also expressed an interest in merging with St. Vivian for track but only needed 7th and 8th graders.

St. Vivian Booster Board supports the merger with Assumption for the 2006 track season.

6. Baseball - Matt Hagen

As stated earlier , sign-ups on January 23rd.  Matt Hagen is anticipating 2 teams for the 2006 boy’s baseball season.  This will be Matt’s last year as commissioner, a succession plan is in place.

2. Scoreboard Advertising: (Dave Phillippi)

The Coca-Cola signs on the Activity Center scoreboards were not authorized by the school or the boosters.  A representative from the Coca-Cola Company installed the signs without contact schools officials.  A motion was made and approved to remove the Coke sign on February 13th if contact is not made with the representatives.

H. New Business:

1. Warning about Gasp Game (kids choking each other to achieve O2 deprived “high”)

Dan Valerio shared an article from the Cincinnati Enquirer dated (12/21/05) and a letter from a parent sent to Mrs. Margello.  The St. Vivian Booster organization wants to make sure all coaches are aware of this situation.  We may have had an incident take place during the Boy’s Basketball Tournament at St. Vivian.  It is important to spread the information about this very dangerous activity students may participate in.

2. Combine track program with Assumption for Spring 2006 (Fitzwater)

Track program to combine with Assumption for the 2006 season.

3. Parish Council discussing rolling calendar at January Meeting (Valerio)

Everyone on the Parish Council seemed supportive of a rolling calendar and they will discuss this at their January Council meeting.   Dan will submit a request for the girls and boys basketball tournaments.

4. Batting Helmets with face masks required for baseball and softball (Eve)

More information is required on this subject.  Matt Hagen suggested we might be able to get the face masks (if they are required) from the College Hill Knothole program.

5. Increase banquet funding?  Current spend $3/participant (Haverland)

Need more discussion from Jim Haverland

6.   A motion was made and passed by the booster board to pay for a third Tournament fee for the 4th grade boy’s BB team.  This is due to the large number of participants and not a change in Booster policy.

7.   Emblem on Mats:

Brian Frey will contact Cintas (Kevin Bien) to verify commitment on original contract.
